Ekk Deewana Tha is a story of love, passion, and dreams. It revolves around Sachin Kulkarni (Prateik Babbar), a 22-year-old engineering graduate from a middle-class Maharashtrian family, who wants to become a filmmaker. He falls in love with Jessie Thekekuttu (Amy Jackson), a 23-year-old Malayali Christian girl from an orthodox family, who works as an IT professional. Jessie lives on the floor above Sachin's flat, and he sees her for the first time when she moves in with her family.
